Requirements for NVR

Attention: The Embassy of Bangladesh in Berlin started issuing Machine Readable NVR in September 2021. Those who already have valid manual NVR stamp on their passport, they can travel with their existing NVR (the validity of the NVR is same as the validity of their passport). However, it is recommended to apply for converting manual NVR to Machine Readable NVR.

Requirements for No Visa Required (NVR)

The following documents are required to submit/ send to Embassy to get No Visa Required (NVR) who is an ex-Bangladeshi citizen:

  1. 01 (one) copy of the duly filled-in application form with Barcode. Please click the link and fill in the form: https://www.visa.gov.bd/
  2. 01 (one) recent passport-size photo
  3. German/ Foreign Passport (valid at least for six months)
  4. Copy of valid or expired Bangladesh Passport (Pages 1–4), or Copy of Dual Citizenship Certificate or Copy of previous NVR including previous German/Foreign passport (page 1-2)
  5. Copy of letter from German/Foreign Authority in case of name change
  6. Proof of payment of Euro 50 (fifty Euros) transferred to the Embassy Account
  7. Self-addressed envelope with sufficient stamp for sending by post.


  • For foreign wife/Husband of Bangladeshi or Ex Bangladeshi Citizen:

    Following things need to submit/ send to Embassy to get No Visa Required (NVR) who is a wife or husband of Bangladeshi or ex Bangladeshi citizen:

    1. 1 (one) copy of duly filled in application form with Barcode. Please click the link and fill the form: https://www.visa.gov.bd/
    2. 1 (one) recent passport-size photo
    3. German/ Foreign Passport (valid at least for six months)
    4. Copy of husband/ wife’s Bangladeshi valid or expired Passport (Pages 1–4), or Copy of Dual Citizenship Certificate or Copy of previous NVR including previous German/Foreign passport (page 1-2)
    5. Copy of marriage certificate
    6. Copy of letter from German/Foreign Authority in case of name change
    7. Proof of payment of Euro 50,- (fifty Euros) transferred to Embassy Account.
    8. Self-addressed envelope with the sufficient stamp for sending by post


  • For Children of Bangladeshi or Ex Bangladeshi Citizen:

    Following things need to submit/ send to Embassy to get No Visa Required (NVR) who is a child (not born in Bangladesh) of Bangladeshi or ex Bangladeshi citizen:

    1. 1 (one) copy of duly filled in application form with Barcode. Please click the link and fill the form: https://www.visa.gov.bd/
    2. 1 (one) recent passport size photo
    3. German/ Foreign Passport (valid at least for six months)
    4. Copy of father/mother’s Bangladeshi valid or expired Passport (Pages 1–4), or Copy of Dual Citizenship Certificate or Copy of previous NVR including previous German/Foreign passport (page 1-2)
    5. Copy of birth certificate showing names of the parents
    6. Copy of letter from German/Foreign Authority in case of name change
    7. Proof of payment of Euro 50,- (fifty Euros) transferred to Embassy Account.
    8. Self addressed envelope with sufficient stamp for sending by post


  • For transfer of NVR (from old passport to new passport):

    Following things need to submit/ send to Embassy to transfer of NVR from old passport to new passport:  

    1. 1 (one) copy of duly filled in application form with Barcode. Please click the link and fill the form: https://www.visa.gov.bd/
    2. 1 (one) recent passport size photo
    3. New German/ Foreign Passport (valid at least for six months)
    4. Original old German/Foreign passport along with photocopy of its first page and the page containing expired NVR seal.
    5. Copy of letter from German/Foreign Authority in case of name change
    6. Proof of payment of Euro 50,- (fifty Euros) transferred to Embassy Account.
    7. Self addressed envelope with sufficient stamp for sending by post.


  • Important Note:

    1. Please fulfil all requirements to avoid any delay in processing.
    2. Please do not pay any cash. Please send required amount to Embassy account by Bank transfer
    3. Foreign citizens (except SAARC countries) of Bangladesh origin are eligible for endorsement of “No Visa Required to Travel to Bangladesh” in their foreign passports.
    4. For foreign spouse, the duration of their marriage should be five years or more for the endorsement of NVR
