Profile of His Excellency Md. Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan, ndc

H.E. Mr. Md. Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan, ndc has joined the Embassy of Bangladesh in Berlin on 02 October 2020, as Ambassador of Bangladesh to Germany with concurrent accreditation to the Czech Republic, Kosovo and International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea (ITLOS).

H.E. Mr. Bhuiyan, ndc is a Senior Secretary (Retired), and Former Chairman of the National Board of Revenue, Ministry of Finance, Government of Bangladesh. He started his career as a Civil Servant under BCS Audit and Accounts Cadre, on 30 January, 1981. Since February 2010, he held several key positions of the Government, such as, Secretary of the Bridges division, Ministry of Communications, the Executive Chairman, Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority (BEZA), the Member of Privatization Commission and the Secretary, later Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Industries. Prior to these assignments he worked as Deputy Secretary, Joint Secretary and Additional Secretary in the Ministries of Commerce, Education, LGRD and Finance (ERD) respectively.

Ambassador Mr. Bhuiyan completed Bachelor of Social Sciences and Masters of Social Sciences in Economics from the Dhaka University. He also obtained Master of Arts (MA) degree in Development Economics from Williams College, Massachusetts, USA. Among the number of professional trainings, the Ambassador Mr. Bhuiyan completed the NDC Course from the National Defence College, Dhaka, Asia-Pacific Course on Security Studies from Hawaii, USA and Managing at the Top (MATT) course from Singapore and Dhaka. Apart from the significant training courses mentioned above, he successfully completed various short duration training courses on financial management, project management, MIS and other professional and administrative topics during his service tenure. He visited many countries of the world in connection with government duties.

H.E Mr. Bhuiyan is a writer as well and articles written by him have been published in various Bangladeshi newspapers. The following books of H.E. Mr. Bhuiyan have been published so far:

H.E. Mr. Bhuiyan is married with Mahfuza Begum, who was a teacher in a Private Teachers’ Training College. They are blessed with 03 (three) children.
